HARBIN -- A delegation led by Wu Poh-hsiung, honorary chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT), arrived in Harbin, capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang province, on Friday afternoon for the eighth Cross-Strait Economic, Trade and Culture Forum.
The forum is scheduled to be held in Harbin on Saturday and Sunday.
Themed "deepening peaceful development, benefiting people across the Straits," the upcoming forum will feature topics related to cross-Strait economic and trade cooperation, as well as cultural and educational exchanges, according to the organizers.
The forum, initiated in 2006, is sponsored by the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the KMT.
Senior officials of the KMT and the CPC, government officials, scholars and representatives from the trade, financial, tourism, education, publishing, film and television industries will be present at the forum. |
