BEIJING -- Philippine investigators have arrived in Taipei to conduct a four-day probe into the fatal shooting of a Taiwan fisherman by the Philippine Coast Guard.
The Philippines and Taiwan have sent their respective investigation teams to carry out further investigations. Some of the Taiwan investigation team have arrived in The Philippines, other members will arrive later today.
Taiwan authorities say that, based on communications with the Philippine government, the Taiwan investigation team will be given full cooperation. The team will review the video evidence of the May 9th shooting incident and records of interrogation.
They’ll also analyse the guns that were used and question the Philippine coast guard personnel involved in the shooting. In return, Taiwan authorities have promised full cooperation to the Philippine investigation team. |
