BEIJING -- China on Thursday called on relevant parties to enhance diplomatic efforts in resolving the Iranian nuclear issue after Iran's atomic chief said nuclear fuel swap talks were over.

"Under the current circumstances, relevant parties should ratchet up diplomatic efforts, continue to commit to dialogue and negotiation, take new measures to deepen trust, and create new conditions to properly resolve the Iranian nuclear issue," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ma Zhaoxu said at a regular briefing on Thursday. BEIJING, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan is to visit Britain from Sept. 7 to 10, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu said Thursday.

Ma said at a regular press conference that Wang will co-chair the Fourth China-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue with UK Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne.Full story

BEIJING -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu said on Thursday that China is ready to maintain close contact with the National Transitional Council (NTC) of Libya.

"China attaches great importance to the important position and role of the National Transitional Council in resolving the Libya issue," Ma said during a regular press conference, noting China respects the choice of the Libyan people. Full story

BEIJING -- China on Thursday pledged to work with Vietnam to remove obstacles to keep bilateral ties on track ahead of a visit by China's top diplomat next week.
