BEIJING, April 14 (Xinhua) -- The first batch of relief materials provided by the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) arrived in the quake-hit area in Qinghai Province on Wednesday afternoon.
This was the first batch of the MOA's relief materials which included one million yuan of relief funds, 2,000 sets of protection suits, 200 units of disinfecting machines, and tents, according to a statement of the Ministry.
The MOA has also made joint efforts with the health authorities to strengthen work on animal epidemic prevention.
A 7.1-magnitude quake hit the Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Yushu in Qinghai early Wednesday morning, leaving at least 400 people dead and 10,000 others injured. |
