The Spokesman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, Yang Yi, has announced two policy changes in a bid to bring more convenience to the residents of Taiwan who work on the Mainland.
The Ministry of Public Security has authorized the Guangdong Customs Management Bureau to directly renew or reissue five-year Compatriot Certificates for people from Taiwan who work or study on the Mainland.
The second change will allow the Customs Management departments to set up sites where people from Taiwan can finish processing the Certificates. These sites will be located in the Tianjin, Hangzhou, and Jinan airports. Both changes will take effect from May 25th.
