Taiwan-based Elite Computer System Co. Ltd. (ECS), the world's largest mainboard producer, set up a production base in Shajing Township in Bao'an District April 28.
With a total investment of US$600 million, the project covers a total area of 780,000 square meters. When completed, the production base is expected to yield an annual output value of more than US$1 billion and offer 6,000 jobs for Shenzhen citizens.
According to Chen Mingxing, a senior official with ECS, Shajing will be the largest production base of ECS and the company was now considering moving its headquarters to Shenzhen in the next few years.
Mayor of Shenzhen Yu Youjun, who attended the opening ceremony, said that the arrival of ECS in Shenzhen would serve as a great impetus for the city's further development of the information industry. He also asked the city's relevant departments to offer good service to ECS and other investors.
