Signing of the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement between Mainland and Taiwan has proceed to the final stage.

Experts from the two sides have held several rounds of talks focusing the range of the early harvest programme and their discussion is going very well.
Taiwan leader Ma Ying-jeou says the signing is imminent.
Ma Ying-Jeou, Taiwan leader said "The signing of the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement is imminent. I hope the agreement will serve to standardize the trade between the two sides."
Taiwan Authorities confirmed Ma's comments, saying the negotiation of the early harvest programme is about to finish. Up till now, about 500 Taiwan products has been included into the programme.
However, Taiwan petroleum industry is unhappy with the current programme as their products are not on the list. Taiwan authorities said they may hold another round of talk to solve this problem.
A recent-conduced poll showed about 67 percent of Taiwan locals support the signing of the Economic Cooperation Framework.
