Chen Yunlin, president of the Chinese mainland-based Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Strait (ARATS), arrived in Taiwan Wednesday afternoon for a new round of talks with his Taiwanese counterpart Chiang Pin-kung, chairman of the Taiwan-based Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF).

For more on the cross strait talks we¡¦re joined in the studio by Professor Huo Deming from the National School of Development at Peking University.

Q1: We know that the meeting between Chen Yunlin and Chiang Pin-Kung has been delayed because the two parties haven¡¦t reached a deal on the investment protection and promotion agreement that will be signed tomorrow. What were the sticking points?

Q2: Chiang Pin-kung has mentioned in his interview that Taiwan needs to create a better business environment to attract investment from the mainland. What does this entail in practice?
